The General Aviation Manufacturers Association (GAMA) announced the industry’s worldwide 2014 year-end shipment and billing numbers at its annual “State of the Industry” press conference on February 11, 2015 at the Newseum. In addition, GAMA unveiled the results of the new industry-wide PricewaterhouseCoopers study on general aviation’s total impact on the U.S. and state economies.
GAMA’s Chairman Joe Brown, who is also President of Hartzell Propeller, and GAMA President and CEO Pete Bunce presented the year-end numbers and reviewed GAMA’s recent efforts. In addition, they discussed the results of the U.S. economic impact study, which was updated for the first time since 2006. The study examines general aviation’s significant economic impact, including economic output, contribution to U.S. GDP, employment, and labor income. The study was funded by GAMA and seven other general aviation associations.
