VTOL developer XTI Aerospace announced that it has completed a propulsion system technical familiarization meeting with the Federal Aviation Administration, marking a key step toward certifying the TriFan 600’s propulsion system. During the session, FAA and XTI engineers reviewed critical systems including the engines, drivetrain, fuel system, propellers, engine compartments, and structural mounts. The discussions covered important certification areas such as fire containment, bird-strike protection, cabin safety, fuel control, and instrumentation. Last week, Textron Aviation announced that Starlink high-speed internet connectivity is now available for the Cessna Caravan through an FAA-approved supplemental type certificate developed by AeroMech. The solution, which includes hardware provided by their subsidiary AMI Aviation Services, is available for retrofit at Textron Aviation service centers worldwide. Brian Rohloff, senior vice president of Customer Support, emphasized the Caravan’s versatility and the importance of reliable global connectivity for customers operating in remote areas.
