Lowell has over 30 years’ experience as a flight test engineer, with time in the Air Force and Mooney Aircraft. But most of that time was spent in the Federal Aviation Administration’s (FAA) Aircraft Certification Small Airplane Standards Branch where he was responsible for a broad range of general aviation policy, and regulatory activities addressing the certification of new technology.
Marten Bosman, CEO/Consultant, Advanced Aviation Safety Services
Mr. Bosman graduated in Aeronautics from the Delft University of Technology. He worked for the Dutch Civil Aviation Authorities as Flight Test Engineer, in which function he was involved in the certification of many large transport aircraft, i.e. Airbus A320, ATR 42, Boeing 737,757,767,747, Dornier 228, Fokker 50,100 and several others. Mr. Bosman then moved on to work for the airlines in operational management positions. After that he joined Airbus and was involved in more than 20 accident and incident investigations, as the manufacturer’s chief investigator. During this he was one of the two European members of the Aviation Safety Alliance. He co-chaired the ARAC Fuel Tank Harmonization Working Group in the wake of the TWA-800 accident. He subsequently moved to Austria to work for Diamond Aircraft Industries as Head of Design Organization and later to JetAlliance as General Manager/Commercial Director Aircraft Maintenance. After that, he became Chief Technical Officer at LH Aviation in Paris. Presently, Mr. Bosman advises Pipistrel with the certification of the Panthera aircraft; and besides this, he chairs the ASTM F44.20 subcommittee on Flight Standards.
