GAMA has been invited by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to participate in the 2019 Asia-Pacific Bilateral Partners Dialogue Meeting (APAC) will be held in Queenstown, New Zealand from April 16-18, 2019. This is an annual meeting that is co-hosted this year by the FAA and the Civil Aviation Authority of New Zealand.
The format of this meeting includes two days dedicated to the FAA with the Asia-Pacific region Civil Aviation Authorities (CAA) and the final day focused on CAA and Industry interactions.
In summary, the focus of the industry engagement may consider the following approaches:
- Industry challenges and issues with validation of products with Asia-Pacific CAA’s;
- Benefits of performance-based approaches to certification and the use of industry consensus standards;
- The use of organizational delegation and risk-based oversight, and
- Benefits of leveraging the use of bilateral agreements and harmonized approaches to certification and validation.
