Textron Aviation delivered a 19-passenger Cessna SkyCourier equipped with a passenger-to-freighter conversion kit to AIR Marshall Islands. The conversion kit allows the aircraft to switch between passenger and cargo roles, which will improve essential inter-island transportation across the Marshall Islands. The aircraft will support the movement of passengers, mail, food, medical supplies, and other freight between remote atolls, with a second SkyCourier expected later this year. The General Aviation Manufacturers Association (GAMA) welcomes the U.S. Senate confirmation of Daniel J. Edwards as U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) Assistant Secretary for Aviation and International Affairs, and Michael Graham as a Member of the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB).“GAMA congratulates Daniel Edwards and Michael Graham on their respective confirmations to serve in important roles that interact closely with general aviation manufacturers and the industry as a whole,” said GAMA President and CEO James Viola. “Mr. Edwards has a keen understanding of the issues and policies that are important to innovation and the advancement of the general aviation industry. Mr. Graham has a deep knowledge of aviation that is well respected within the industry. GAMA looks forward to continuing to work with both of these esteemed leaders to further aviation safety and international engagement.” Prior to confirmation, Edwards served as the DOT Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary for Aviation and International Affairs and FAA Associate Administrator for Airports.
