This memorandum provides policy concerning the requirements of Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Order 8100.8D, Designee Management Handbook, paragraph 803g and paragraph 201b.

PURPOSE. This advisory circular (AC): 1. Provides descriptions of references and training materials to ensure that the reader can assemble a Maintenance Human Factors (MxHF) training program matched to the applicable needs of their specific organization. 2. Provides many sources of current information to develop, implement, reinforce, and assess MxHF training materials. 3. Streamlines MxHF training development at the local level. 4. Is not mandatory, like any AC, and does not constitute a regulation.

This advisory circular (AC) updates information regarding the items that are required to be, or recommended, content in oral passenger safety briefings and on safety information briefing cards. This AC provides specific information about air carrier operations conducted under Title 14 of the Code of Federal Regulations (14 CFR) parts 121 and 135.

1. Purpose of This Notice. This notice provides guidance regarding exclusion from Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Order 8900.1, Flight Standards Information Management System (FSIMS), Volume 8, Chapter 5, General Airworthiness and Avionics Technical Functions. This exclusion concerns inspection and maintenance program requirements for airworthiness certification of Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) with an operating weight of less than 55 pounds. This notice supports a deviation issued by the Aircraft Certification Service (AIR) to Memorandum Number AIR 100-15-110-DM44 and the current edition of FAA Order 8130.34, Airworthiness Certification of Unmanned Aircraft Systems and Optionally Piloted Aircraft.

This advisory circular (AC) provides guidance on how to submit a proposed means of compliance to Title 14, Code of Federal Regulations (14 CFR) part 23 for acceptance by the Administrator in accordance with § 23.2010, Accepted means of compliance. This guidance provides information to applicants seeking approval for a type certificate (TC), an amended TC, a supplemental type certificate (STC), an amended STC, type design changes, or parts manufacturer approval (PMA) that require use of the airworthiness standards contained in part 23.

This order is a handbook of procedures, technical guidelines, limitations of authority, and tools and resources for designated engineering representatives (DERs). We, the FAA, wrote it for all DERs and the FAA staff who manage them. We designed this handbook to give FAA managing offices and DERs a better understanding of their individual and mutual responsibilities.
