2018.06.01 – Consolidated version EU-US BASA

An updated version of the consolidated text of the Agreement between the USA and EU on cooperation in the regulation of civil aviation safety is now available.

This latest update includes changes to Annex 2 on approvals and monitoring of maintenance facilities, and amendments to the executive part of the Agreement extending its scope to personnel licensing and training, operation of aircraft, and air traffic services and air traffic management.

FAA Notice N_8900.471 Verification of Flammability Reduction Means (FRM)

This notice announces the availability and required completion of
the Safety Assurance System (SAS) National/Regional Custom Data Collection Tool (C DCT)
titled “Verification of Flammability Reduction Means (FRM),” for Title 14 of the Code of
Federal Regulations (14 CFR) part 121 certificate holders, and Program Tracking and Reporting
Subsystem (PTRS) code 4635/6635, for 14 CFR part 125 certificate holders or A125 Letter of
Deviation Authority (LODA) holders and 14 CFR part 129 or § 129.14 foreign air
carriers/foreign persons, to mitigate risk associated with FRM.

FAA 43-9C_CHG2 Maintenance Records

This advisory circular (AC) describes methods, procedures, and practices that
have been determined to be acceptable means of showing compliance with the General Aviation
(GA) maintenance record-making and recordkeeping requirements of Title 14 of the Code of
Federal Regulations (14 CFR) parts 43 and 91. This material is not mandatory, nor is it
regulatory, and it acknowledges that the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) will consider
other methods that may be presented. It is issued for guidance purposes and outlines several
methods of compliance with the regulations.
