FAA AIR-600-17-6F0-PM02 Revision to Organization Designation Authorization (ODA) Organization Management Team (OMT) Lead Training Requirements

This memorandum allows Aircraft Certification Service (AIR) personnel to be assigned as
an OMT lead without prior completion of FAA course 22000084, FAA/AIR Compliance
and Enforcement (Part II). AIR OMT leads who have not previously completed the
course must complete the course within 6 months after assignment if a course offering is
available within the 6-month period. If a course offering is not available within the 6-
month period after assignment, the OMT lead must complete the course within 12 months.
In order to take advantage of this allowance, the appointing office manager must confirm
that another OMT member who has completed the course will assist the OMT lead in the
performance of any compliance and enforcement activities. This responsibility must be
specified on the OMT listing. Course attendance may be verified by checking with an
AIR training manager.

FAA N 8900.440 Master Minimum Equipment List Policy Letter 98, Revision 1, Navigation Databases, and Associated Aviation Safety Inspector Requirements

Purpose of This Notice. This notice announces revised policy associated with Master
Minimum Equipment List (MMEL) Policy Letter (PL)-98, Navigation Databases. This notice
provides guidance to the Aircraft Evaluation Division (AFS-100), which develops and revises
MMELs, and aviation safety inspectors (ASI) with minimum equipment list (MEL) oversight
responsibility, and tasks them with ensuring all MMELs and operators’ MELs are updated in
accordance with this notice and MMEL PL-98, revision 1. This notice also extends the due date
for ASIs and AFS-100 to ensure compliance with MMEL PL-98, revision 1.
Note: The use of the term “operator” in this notice refers to those certificate
holders, program managers, foreign air carriers, and aircraft owners utilizing an
MMEL or MEL and conducting aircraft operations under Title 14 of the Code of
Federal Regulations (14 CFR) parts 91, 91 subpart K (part 91K), 121, 125, 129,
and 135, unless otherwise specified.

FAA AC 145-9A Guide for Developing and Evaluating Repair Station and Quality Control Manuals

This advisory circular (AC) provides informational material for all repair station certificate
holders and/or applicants under Title 14 of the Code of Federal Regulations (14 CFR) part 145 to
develop and evaluate a Repair Station Manual (RSM) and Quality Control Manual (QCM). This
AC describes an acceptable, but not the only means, to develop a manual and comply with the
referenced regulations.
