FAA Notice N8900_677 Personnel Authorized to Issue the Logbook Endorsement Required by 14 CFR Part 61, § 61.195(k)(7) and Their Qualifications and Limitations

This is a special-emphasis notice. This notice provides policy and guidance to aviation safety inspectors (ASI) concerning the Title 14 of the Code of Federal Regulations (14 CFR) part 61 limitations for night vision goggle (NVG) instructors. It is the intent of this notice to clarify the limitations regarding the ability to issue the endorsement
required by part 61, § 61.195(k)(7). This notice will ensure uniform application of policy. This notice updates policy published in expired Notice N 8900.613, Personnel Authorized to Issue the
Logbook Endorsement Required by 14 CFR Part 61, § 61.195(k)(7) and Their Qualifications and
Limitations, dated March 7, 2022.

FAA AC 61-142_Ed_Upd Sharing Aircraft Operating Expenses in Accordance with 14 CFR § 61.113(c)

This AC provides guidance on how a pilot may share flight expenses with passengers in a manner consistent with Title 14 of the Code of Federal Regulations (14 CFR). It responds to Section 515 of the FAA Reauthorization Act of 2018 (Public Law 115-254) and sets forth the Federal Aviation Administration’s (FAA) longstanding position with regard to the regulations governing expense-sharing flights and the manner in which those flights relate to operations that require a 14 CFR part 119 Operating Certificate.
