The all-electric ALIA CX300 aircraft by BETA TECHNOLOGIES successfully completed a demonstration tour of Belgium, the Netherlands, and Luxembourg, showcasing the practicality of electric aviation for regional transportation. During the tour, the aircraft visited multiple airports and engaged with government officials, regulators, airport operators, and potential customers to demonstrate its capabilities and the readiness of electric aircraft for real-world operations. BETA highlighted the ALIA CX300's ability to carry passengers or cargo while using existing airport infrastructure, emphasizing its potential to support sustainable regional air mobility across Europe. Engine maker GE Aerospace completed the first ground tests of a hybrid-electric modified CT7 turboprop. Conducted under the U.S. Army Research Laboratory's ARC-STEP program, the demonstration paired a CT7 engine with a GE-developed 1MW-class electric motor and power electronics system to evaluate the potential of hybrid-electric propulsion. Engineers successfully validated the integration of the gas turbine and electric power system while gathering data on efficiency, reliability, and performance.
