TCCA AC 606-001 Flight Simulation Training Device (FSTD) Qualification Requirements for Required Navigation Performance (RNP) Instrument Approach Training
This Advisory Circular (AC) is provided for information and guidance purposes. It describes an example of an acceptable means, but not the only means, of demonstrating compliance with the TP9685 Airplane and Rotorcraft Simulator Manual. It describes the evaluation criteria employed by the NSEP to evaluate whether the replication and presentation of RNP Approaches in an FSTD will sufficiently support TC approved training programs. Should an applicant desire to use another means of compliance, a proposal must be submitted to the Manager, National Simulator Program (MSP) for review and approval prior to implementation. This AC on its own does not change, create, amend or permit deviations from regulatory requirements, nor does it establish minimum standards.

FAA AC_120-113_CHG_1_Ed_Upd_2 Best Practices for Engine Time-In-Service Interval Extensions
This advisory circular (AC) provides information on engine time-in-service
interval extensions. The AC explains the background of engine time-in-service intervals as well
as the Federal Aviation Administration’s (FAA) regulatory requirements for time limitations and
time-in-service intervals for engine overhauls. The AC also provides aircraft operators with
information on the best practices for an engine time-in-service interval extension program and
how to obtain an engine time-in-service interval extension.
This change to the AC removes content referring to
airframe/engine utilization reports, as these reports are no longer required. This change also
clarifies maintenance program instructions and requirements.

FAA Order 8000.95D, Designee Management Policy
This order establishes policy for integrated designee management
across the Office of Aerospace Medicine (AAM), Aircraft Certification Service (AIR), Flight
Standards Service (FS), and Air Traffic Safety Oversight Service (AOV), as well as the use of
the Designee Management System (DMS), which is a web-based tool designed to standardize the
management of designees.
This order consolidates orders across Aviation Safety (AVS) services and offices (S/O)
and establishes a common policy section for all designees and provides respective volumes for
the specific designee types. These policy changes are global in nature and, therefore, are not
listed individually.

FAA Order 8000.377A, Flight Standards Safety Management System (FSSMS) Requirements
This order defines the requirements to be met by Flight Standards (FS) organizations in support of the Aviation Safety Safety Management System (AVSSMS). The focus of this order is aviation safety. It does not address occupational safety, health, or personnel safety issues, unless those issues affect aviation safety. Each FS functional organization plays a role in the FSSMS. Functional offices’ processes must ensure full conformance and alignment with this order. This order enables FS to continue its proactive approach to improving safety performance through its requirement to:
• Maintain organizations capable of overseeing aviation safety;
• Identify hazards that can impact the safety of the aerospace system and establish controls/mitigations to reduce safety risk in a prioritized manner; and
• Track identified hazards to ensure that risk remains known and acceptable.
