Engine maker GE Aerospace completed the first ground tests of a hybrid-electric modified CT7 turboprop. Conducted under the U.S. Army Research Laboratory's ARC-STEP program, the demonstration paired a CT7 engine with a GE-developed 1MW-class electric motor and power electronics system to evaluate the potential of hybrid-electric propulsion.
