Promoting a Proportional Approach to General Aviation in Europe
GAMA continues to strongly advocate for a more suitable, proportionate approach to the regulation of general aviation across Europe. In particular, we strongly believe in a risk-based approach to all relevant European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) regulations – based on a continual, cooperative effort between the EU institutions, national authorities and our community.
The implementation of a General Aviation Roadmap forms a key pillar in ensuring general aviation rules are proportionate – starting from the lighter end of general aviation and moving upwards. GAMA is a strong supporter of this approach being applied appropriately through the spectrum of general aviation products – including more complex business aviation aeroplanes and rotorcraft – in the fields of airworthiness, operations and licensing.
