The Civil Air Patrol (CAP) has ordered 21 new Cessna piston aircraft from Textron Aviation to support search and rescue, disaster response, pilot training and youth aviation programs across the United States. The order includes seven Cessna Skyhawk 172s, 11 Skylane 182s, two Turbo Skylane T182Ts and one Turbo Stationair HD 206, with deliveries expected to be completed in 2027. CAP, the official civilian auxiliary of the U.S. Air Force, operates a fleet of 543 single-engine aircraft and is the world's largest operator of Cessna aircraft. With approximately 72,000 members nationwide, the CAP has flown nearly 200,000 hours, conducted 860 search and rescue missions and helped save 104 lives since October 2024. ...
