Two more records have fallen to the Gulfstream G800.The aircraft recorded Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation's 800th city-pair speed record with a flight from Reykjavik, Iceland, to Savannah, Georgia, covering 2,973 nautical miles in 5 hours 52 minutes at an average speed of Mach 0.91. It then completed what Gulfstream says is the farthest, fastest flight in business aviation history, flying 8,303 nautical miles from Melbourne, Australia, to Moline, Illinois, in 16 hours 56 minutes at an average speed of Mach 0.85. The G800 has set 15 speed records since entering service in August 2025 and highlights the aircraft's 8,200-nautical-mile range, high-speed cruise capability, and cabin features designed for ultra-long-range missions. ... eVTOL Insights reports that BETA TECHNOLOGIES, Surf Air Mobility, and Hawaiian Airlines have launched a demonstration program in Hawaii to evaluate the use of BETA's ALIA electric aircraft for interisland operations. The initiative will include a series of cargo and passenger demonstration flights, allowing the partners to assess aircraft performance, charging infrastructure, airport integration, and operational requirements while gathering data to support future commercial service. Hawaiian Airlines will contribute operational expertise and help evaluate how electric aircraft could complement Hawaii's existing aviation network, with the program representing another step toward introducing sustainable regional air transportation across the islands.
