GAMA Statement On Nomination of Sturgell As Next FAA Administrator

WASHINGTON, DC, October 24, 2007 – Today, the General Aviation Manufacturers Association (GAMA) issued the following statement upon President Bush’s nomination of Robert A. “Bobby” Sturgell as the next Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Administrator:

“We are extremely pleased by the White House’s decision to nominate Bobby Sturgell as the next FAA Administrator,” said Pete Bunce, GAMA’s President and CEO. “Bobby’s experience in key leadership roles within the FAA is truly invaluable, especially as our nation faces the time-critical challenge of modernizing our nation’s air transportation system. His knowledge and expertise will provide the strategic direction required to advance this crucial initiative.”

Bunce added, "We look forward to continuing our great working relationship with Bobby and his staff and hope that the Senate will also recognize the importance of a swift confirmation.”
