Media Alert: General Aviation Rally with Senator Cornyn and Texas House Members Postponed

GAMA NEWS 13-58 For Immediate Release: Nov 25, 2013

GAMA has postponed the following event due to expected inclement weather in Dallas. We will send a new press release when the rally is rescheduled.

Washington, DC—The General Aviation Manufacturers Association (GAMA) will hold a rally celebrating general aviation’s (GA) contributions to the economy on December 6 at Bombardier’s Dallas Service Center at Dallas Love Field in Dallas, Texas. U.S. Senator John Cornyn and U.S. Representatives Eddie Bernice Johnson, Sam Johnson, and Marc Veasey will be the featured speakers. Representatives from American Eurocopter, Aviall, Bell Helicopter, Bombardier, and Dallas Airmotive will also make remarks.

Hundreds of aviation enthusiasts are expected to attend, including representatives from local aviation manufacturing companies, businesses that use general aviation to ensure their commercial success and members of the military.

The GA industry contributes more than $150 billion to the U.S. economy annually and supports 1.2 million jobs nationwide. GA is one of the few remaining domestic manufacturing industries that provides a positive trade surplus for the United States.

Texas is home to more than 50,000 FAA-Certificated Pilots and over 2,000 civil use landing facilities. GA helps thousands of businesses of all sizes become more productive and efficient, and provides local communities with much-needed tax revenue and jobs.
