U.S. Dept. of Transportation (DOT) Secretary Sean P. Duffy released the Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) National Strategy and Comprehensive Plan, which was created by the AAM Interagency Working Group, led by DOT. GAMA president and CEO, James Viola (pictured), who was present at the announcement, released the following statement regarding the national strategy:“Today is a significant day for the AAM sector. GAMA applauds all the hard and collaborative work from the AAM Interagency Working Group to create and put forth this national strategy. This strategy will ensure that the U.S. will be a global leader in AAM through the sector’s integration into the national airspace system with a focus on adapting and improving infrastructure; strengthening the aviation workforce; expanding security, safety and automation; and furthering community planning and engagement. The growth of the AAM sector will facilitate additional transportation options, create jobs, stimulate economic activity and competitiveness, and foster further advancement in aerospace technology."Read the full statement on GAMA's website at bit.ly/48XoVwD ... The newest SR Series G7+ from Cirrus, equipped with the Garmin-powered Safe Return™ Emergency Autoland system, has gained key international certifications, expanding Cirrus' global market access. The European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) and the United Kingdom Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) have granted type certification for the SR Series G7+, making it fully approved for operation in Europe and the U.K. The model, which includes SR20, SR22, and SR22T variants with Safe Return as standard, allows anyone in the cabin to trigger an autonomous emergency landing at the press of a button should the pilot be incapacitated. In addition to European and U.K. approvals, Brazil’s National Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC) has now also certified the SR Series G7+ with Safe Return Emergency Autoland, paving the way for deliveries and operations in the Brazilian market. This milestone reinforces Cirrus’s strategy to broaden the adoption of advanced safety technologies worldwide and underscores the company’s commitment to innovation in personal aviation. ...
