Washington, DC—The Board of Directors of the General Aviation Manufacturers Association (GAMA) today approved BRP Powertrain-Rotax (Rotax) as GAMA’s newest member. BRP-Powertrain GmbH & Co KG is the subsidiary of BRP. Located in Gunskirchen, Austria, BRP Powertrain is a leader in the development and production of innovative 4- and 2-stroke high performance Rotax aircraft engines for the ultra-light and light aircraft industry. In the last 50 years, the company has developed more than 350 engine models for recreational vehicles and produced over 7 million engines, including more than 175,000 aircraft engines.

The Board also welcomed two new committee chairmen: David Coleal, President of Bombardier Business Aircraft, who will lead GAMA’s Environment Committee, and Jim Ziegler, President and CEO of Greenwich AeroGroup, who will head GAMA’s Security Issues Committee.

In his role as Environment Committee Chairman, Coleal will succeed Ed Dolanski, former President and CEO of Aviall, Inc., who chaired the committee for two years. Ziegler is succeeding Mark Van Tine, CEO of Jeppesen, who is retiring later this month. Van Tine has led the committee since 2009, when he served as GAMA’s Chairman.

“We want to thank both Ed Dolanski and Mark Van Tine for their important contributions in leading GAMA’s Environment and Security Issues Committees, respectively, and serving on GAMA’s Executive Committee,” GAMA President and CEO Pete Bunce said. “Their dedication to these issues, and the time and talent they have devoted to GAMA, will be greatly missed. We are especially grateful for Mark’s tremendous service to GAMA over the years, including as Chairman, and for being such an effective and passionate advocate for the general aviation community.
