Carsten Hoyt, General Counsel and Director of Regulatory Affairs

Prior to joining GAMA, Carsten Hoyt served as an airworthiness regulatory, national security, and international law attorney for the FAA Office of Chief Counsel. Additionally, Hoyt has extensive experience in military aviation, to include as a Naval Aircrewman and aircraft avionics maintainer in the U.S. Navy and later as a helicopter pilot in the U.S. Army. He continues to serve in the U.S. Army Reserve where he currently holds the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. Hoyt’s educational background includes a Juris Doctor from The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law, a Master’s of International Relations and National Security from the Naval War College, and a Bachelor’s in Political Science from Washington State University.
