WASHINGTON, DC, April 25, 2011 – The General Aviation Manufacturers Association (GAMA) today announced that veteran Capitol Hill staffer Amanda Joyner will join the Association as its new director of government affairs.
Joyner comes to GAMA from the office of U.S. Representative Howard Coble of North Carolina where she most recently served as senior legislative assistant. Her responsibilities included work on the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, advising the Congressman on aviation, highway, and Coast Guard issues. Joyner also has considerable experience with the congressional appropriations process as well as transportation security, energy and tax issues.
“Amanda’s extensive understanding of the congressional process and her deep knowledge of aviation issues will make her a tremendous asset to the GAMA team,” said GAMA’s President and CEO, Pete Bunce. “Her considerable strategic, political, and communication skills will instantly enhance the work of GAMA and contribute greatly to the achievement of our U.S. and global agenda.”
A native of Pleasant Garden, North Carolina, Joyner holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in communications and business from Appalachian State University.
