GAMA Awards Edward W. Stimpson “Aviation Excellence” Scholarship

WASHINGTON, DC, July 12, 2006 – The General Aviation Manufacturers Association (GAMA) is pleased to announce that it has chosen Mr. Miles Tischhauser as its 2006 Edward W. Stimpson “Aviation Excellence” scholarship recipient. Mr. Tischhauser recently graduated with honors from Genoa-Kingston High School in Genoa, Illinois.

Mr. Tischhauser set his aviation career path into motion as a junior in high school by starting flying lessons at his local airport. During the school year, he also took several aviation related courses through the Kishwaukee Education Consortium Program for college credit.

While maintaining his excellent academic record, Mr. Tischhauser remained active in his community and participated in many extra curricular activities. He earned the honor of Eagle Scout this spring and capitalized on opportunities to build leadership skills as a member of the Student Council for four years and took part in the National Youth Leadership Program for six years. He was also a member of his high school football and track and field teams.

With the ultimate goal of becoming a commercial pilot, Mr. Tischhauser will pursue an associate’s degree in Aviation Flight and Management this fall at Kishwaukee College in Malta, Illinois. After receiving his degree and certified flight instructor certificate, he plans to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Aviation Management while continuing to build flight time.
