GAMA Publishes Amended Report for 2014 Third Quarter Shipments with Rotorcraft Data

GAMA NEWS 14-51 For Immediate Release: Nov 7, 2014
The General Aviation Manufacturers Association (GAMA) on November 7 provided updated rotorcraft shipment data through third quarter 2014 to augment the general aviation airplane shipment data published last week.

The rotorcraft industry delivered 648 helicopters in the first nine months of 2014, a decline of approximately one-third in deliveries compared to the same period last year. The third quarter deliveries signify a pause in the rotorcraft industry’s strong deliveries over the past several years. The billings of these aircraft deliveries totaled $2.6 billion, a decline of 20.1 percent.

First Nine Months of Shipments of Rotorcraft Manufactured Worldwide

   2013  2014  CHANGE

GAMA’s airplane shipment data has been published since 1947 and starting in 2011 the association also publishes data about rotorcraft deliveries. The 2014 report covers over 80 percent of the civil and commercial rotorcraft market’s worldwide aircraft shipments.

Note: Included with this press release are copies of the updated 2013 and 2014 general aviation aircraft shipment reports. These amended reports do not change any data about the third quarter airplane shipments which were published on October 30th. GAMA will publish the year-end 2014 general aviation aircraft shipment data on February 11, 2015. Additional information about the year-end shipment report and press conference will be distributed in January.
