GAMA Urges Support for Congressional Efforts on DCA

GAMA NEWS 05-11 For Immediate Release: Feb 18, 2005

Washington, DC, February 18, 2005 – The General Aviation Manufacturers Association (GAMA) today urged support for legislation introduced to develop and implement standards for the resumption of general aviation flights at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA).

"We’re pleased by the actions of Senator George Allen and Representatives John Mica, Tom Davis and James Moran", said Ron Swanda, Interim President of GAMA. "All four have been strong supporters of general aviation access to the entire Washington area. We believe we are close to seeing the first phase of general access to DCA, so Congressional support is critical at this stage. If our access to DCA is a phased approach, continued Congressional pressure will be vital to make sure all incremental steps move forward in a timely fashion."
