Media Reminder: Senator Cornyn and Texas House Members to Attend General Aviation Jobs Rally

GAMA NEWS 14-15 For Immediate Release: Mar 18, 2014

Washington, DC—The General Aviation Manufacturers Association (GAMA) will hold a rally celebrating general aviation’s (GA) contributions to the economy on March 28 at Bombardier’s Dallas Service Center at Dallas Love Field in Dallas, Texas. U.S. Senator John Cornyn and U.S. Representatives Eddie Bernice Johnson, Sam Johnson, Pete Sessions, and Marc Veasey will be the featured speakers. Representatives from Airbus Helicopters, Aviall, Bell Helicopter, Bombardier, Dallas Airmotive, Gulfstream, and Jet Aviation will also make remarks.

Hundreds of aviation enthusiasts are expected to attend, including representatives from local aviation manufacturing companies, businesses that use general aviation to ensure their commercial success and members of the military.

The GA industry contributes more than $150 billion to the U.S. economy annually and supports 1.2 million jobs nationwide. GA is one of the few remaining domestic manufacturing industries that provides a positive trade surplus for the United States.

Texas is home to more than 50,000 FAA-Certificated Pilots and over 2,000 civil use landing facilities. GA helps thousands of businesses of all sizes become more productive and efficient, and provides local communities with much-needed tax revenue and jobs.
