AIN reports that Textron Aviation has successfully concluded its ninth Special Olympics Airlift, coordinating approximately 130 volunteer Cessna, Beechcraft, and Hawker aircraft to transport more than 800 athletes and coaches to and from the 2026 Special Olympics USA Games in Minnesota. The operation, regarded as the world's largest peacetime airlift, relied on hundreds of volunteer pilots, aircraft owners, and ground personnel who donated their time and resources to provide athletes with a first-class travel experience. The article highlights the extensive logistical planning required to manage arrivals and departures at St. Paul Downtown Airport and emphasizes the longstanding partnership between the Special Olympics and Textron Aviation, which has transported more than 10,000 athletes since the program began in 1987. Duluth's WDIO reports Cirrusirrus Aircraft opened a new public-facing Talent Center at its headquarters in Hermantown, Minnesota, designed to strengthen the aviation workforce through recruiting, technical training, career development, and community partnerships. Company officials said the facility will serve people entering aviation for the first time, transitioning from military service, advancing their education, or seeking new career opportunities by connecting them with the resources needed to succeed. The center also supports Cirrus' broader workforce development strategy as the company continues expanding its Duluth operations, having hired more than 300 employees this year, including dozens in product development. Cirrus says the investment will help build a stronger talent pipeline while supporting growth in the regional aerospace manufacturing and aviation industries.
